Patricia ShevlinEecutive Producer, CBS Evening News Weekend EditionNEW YORK, June 18, 2004 | by Sarah Elkins (CBS) Patricia Shevlin was named executive producer, CBS Evening News Weekend Editions, in January 2000. She oversees the CBS Evening News on Saturday and the CBS Evening News With John Roberts on Sunday. Shevlin had been senior producer for the CBS Evening News With Dan Rather since January 1995. In that position, she oversaw both the foreign and medical beats. She was a producer for that broadcast (1992-95) after a stint as senior producer for CBS This Morning (1991-92). Prior to that, she had been a producer on the Evening News (1989-91). Shevlin joined the CBS Morning News in 1982 and held a variety of positions there, including broadcast producer. Previously, she had been associate producer for several CBS News broadcasts, including "In the News" (1975-82). She joined CBS News in 1973. Shevlin has received nine Emmy Awards for her work on the CBS Evening News With Dan Rather and the CBS Evening News Weekend Editions, including coverage of the crash of TWA Flight 800, as well as a CBS News special on Princess Diana’s funeral. Under her leadership, the CBS Evening News Weekend Edition won a 2001 Sigma Delta Chi Award, a 2002 Emmy Award and was part of the team that won the 2003 RTNDA Edward R. Murrow Award for “Overall Excellence.” Shevlin, a native of Cleveland, was graduated from Wellesley College with a degree in art history. She is married to Ted Holmes, a long-time producer for CBS News.
