Even with TCU getting all the love, moving up the polls and making its well-deserved claim to go to the title game since the big three have struggled more than the Horned Frogs have, it was still a sobering week for the non-BCS Top 10ers out there. Four of last week's teams took it on the chin this weekend. Ouch. So look for the upheaval to start right after our beloved -- and impressive -- Frogs and Broncos. And let me say this: I know the BCS bowls are all about selling tickets and getting sexy TV ratings, but it will be some kind of grifting crime if both TCU and Boise aren't getting the big money paychecks from the BCS bowls this January. Sure, we're a little biased here, but they both clearly deserve it. This week's rating of the best of the under-appreciated:

TCU fans, there's no question your team deserve a BCS bid.

1. TCU, 10-0 Last week: 1 Result: won 55-28 vs. Utah What a bonanza week it was for TCU. Rowdy crowd. Sellout. GameDay was there. And best of all, they beat the stew out of a good team, giving themselves a huge push in the college football circles. I wonder if the SEC administrators are looking at the Frogs and thinking, "Uh oh! I hope one of our teams isn't matched up with them." Next: at Wyoming on Saturday 2. Boise State, 10-0 Last week: 2 Result: Won 63-25 vs. Idaho We thought the Vandals would be Boise's last big test. Not. An impressive win by the Broncos as they send a "style points" message to the BCS. Coach Chris Petersen quipped afterward, "I think we'll probably drop about three or four notches." Next: at Utah State on Friday 3. Temple, 8-2 Last week: 6 Result: Won 56-17 at Akron Screw it. No. 3 Utah got bombed, No. 4 Houston tripped and No. 5 BYU played weak. I'm moving the feel-good story of the year into the No. 3 spot. Though it didn't look good early as the Zips bolted out to a 17-7 lead, QB Chester Stewart, making just his second start, led the Owls to 49 consecutive points. Next: vs. Kent State on Saturday 4. BYU, 8-2 Last week: 5 Result: Won 24-19 at New Mexico A five-point win over hapless UNM? Geez, guys. You sure make it hard to actually want to move you up a slot here. Still, big props to QB Max Hall, who engineered his 29th career win and tied Ty Detmer in the Coogs' record book. Bloody good show, my man. Next: vs. Air Force on Saturday 5. Nevada, 7-3 Last week: 8 Result: Won 52-14 vs. Fresno State That Boise showdown on Nov. 27 is looking more and more like a Bronco trap game. This week, UNR only had two runners go over 100 yards (Vai Taua had 179 and Luke Lippencott had 149), but QB Colin Kaepernick went for 95 yards on the ground and the Pack continued their ground assault. Next: at New Mexico State on Saturday 6. Utah, 8-2 Last week: 3 Result: lost 55-28 at TCU Well the Utes just got caught up in a buzz saw, that's all. Plus we shouldn't be too shocked by this, Utah is still a pretty young team this year, and its better days are ahead. Going into the Frog den was a tough second starting assignment for freshman Jordan Wynn. Next: vs. San Diego State on Saturday 7. Houston, 8-2 Last week: 4 Result: lost 37-32 at Central Florida Want to hear something weird? UH D-coordinator John Skladany, whose defense has imploded in the two Coogs losses, came to H-town from UCF two years ago. Guess the Knights knew what kind of defense Skladany was going to run. Case Keenum can only do so much, ya' know? Next: vs. Memphis on Saturday 8. Central Michigan, 8-2 Last week: 9 Result: won 56-28 vs. Toledo Chips were back to looking like their dominant selves in MAC play, turning Toledo every which way but loose. Dan LeFevour was potent, getting six touchdowns, four of them on 2-yard runs. LeFevour also becomes the only player in NCAA history to pass for 11,000-plus yards and run for 2,500-plus. Next: at Ball State on Wednesday 9. Navy, 8-3 Last week: Unranked Result: won 35-18 vs. Delaware Yeah I hear ya, the Mids weren't ranked after beating Notre Dame, but they are after beating the Blue Hens. Well, either way my sailor, hat's off to QB Ricky Bobbs, who broke the Naval Academy record for TDs in a season (22) after scoring five in the win over UD. Next: at Hawaii on Nov. 28 The 10-spot: Tarleton State, 10-2 Last week: Unranked Result: Won 57-56 at Texas A&M-Kingsville The honorary 10-spot goes to the Texans after they went on the road and got an incredible double-overtime win over the Javelinas in D-II playoff action. But get this: The game was sent into OT when Garrett Lindholm kicked a 64-yard field goal on the last play of regulation. Tom Dempsey, eat your heart out! Next: at No. 1 Central Washington on Saturday Dropped out: No. 8 Troy (lost at Arkansas 49-20)
